A brief history........

I have been playing the guitar for over twenty years now, which seems like a strange thing to comprehend. The guitar has always been a complete obsession and I have no idea really why or where it came from. All I know is that ever since my parents bought me a £15 nylon strung acoustic for my 10th birthday, it's all I have ever wanted to do with my time. I got a break as a session player when I was 21 and gig by gig this has led to a large area of my work that I continue to do today.
Over the last ten years I have been lucky enough to encounter some very famous Pop Stars and some incredibly talented Musicians and Producers.
I have also performed at many major Concert Venues, Recording Studios, TV and Radio Shows all over the World.

I have an original band called The Volts.
We have just completed our first studio album with legendary Producer Hugh Padgham.

The Volts -

Huw (Vox) and Giles (Guitar) met just over a year ago at a gig at The Zodiac - Oxfords most famous live venue. They it off with a discussion about the lack of any great young British rock acts lending themselves towards the classic era of Cream, Free, Led Zeppelin and The Who.

The boys started to write together and it was immediately clear that this was the start of something special.
With the first batch of material under their belts they set about finding the best Drummer possible to complete the line up.
After much searching the fusion occurred, Ben Townshend slotted into place perfectly from the first rehearsal.

The band soon caught the eye of Producer Mick Lister. They we very excited about this as he had previously worked and written for legends Bad Company. He helped them craft their songs and produce some fantastic demos.

It was a few months later that singer Huw had a chance encounter with Producer Hugh Padgham. The band all knew of his work with The Police, XTC, Genesis, David Bowie and were amazed when he said he would come to a rehearsal and check them out.
Hugh was blown away with bands performance and material. He offered on the spot to make an album with them at his London Studio.

The album ‘Silver Tear’ has just been completed and can be heard on the MP3 player on our new web site.
